Some of our activities
The sports played during the day are not competitive unless the age group would like it to be as a little bit of friendly competition can be great for building resilience but are played for enjoyment and to learn new skills. Whilst each sport has different rules and aims of the games, most, if not all sports allow for children to be able to learn great teamwork at a young age.
Cricket
Cricket involves sprinting between wickets and running to stop balls, as well as bowling and throwing. Health benefits include: Endurance and stamina Balance and coordination Physical fitness Improving hand-eye coordination.
Rugby
Tag Rugby is a fantastic way for kids to keep fit in a fun and energetic way. The level of activity in a game promotes bone and muscle strength as well as great body coordination, and it encourages children to be physically fit whilst enjoying themselves too.
Dodgeball
Dodgeball is a great all-round workout and some of key benefits include: Cardiovascular workout, Increased agility, Improved reactions, Improved concentration levels, Team-building skills developed. Dodgeball is played with soft sponge balls.
Handball
Handball is a great form of exercise, for both men and women. Principally a form of aerobic exercise, handball helps to enhance agility and flexibility, muscle tone, stamina, burn calories and fat and promote cardiovascular health.
Hockey
It helps reduce body fat; it helps develop the body’s cardiovascular system. Hockey improves lower and upper body muscle strength. Hockey builds coordination skills.
Badminton
It is an excellent game for the physical development of your child. Its improves the child’s personality, It improves eyesight. The game increases the attention of the child and helps to focus on learning.
Tennis
Playing tennis has many health benefits including increasing aerobic capacities, lowering resting heart rate and blood pressure, improving metabolic function, increasing bone density, lowering body fat, improving muscle tone, strength, and flexibility, increasing reaction times.
Team sports
The children love the team’s sports that we play. These are the common ‘sports day’ things like races, beanbag activities, egg and spoons etc. it allows them to mix with children of all ages and support and encourage each other as a team.
Free play
Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is important to healthy brain development. It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact in the world around them.
